LifeRock is infused with spored bacteria to aid in biological performance, along with millions of micro and macro passage ways CaribSea's Branch Dry Rock is perfect for the environmentally friendly aquarist.
Creates a mature looking reef instantly
100% safe for all marine animals
Unique pieces
Environmentally friendly
CaribSea LifeRock is made of an aragonitic base rock, instead of the typical cement used by many other artificial rock creators. Every rock contains a network of micro and macro pores that intertwine within the rocks internal structure creating the perfect environment for natural nitrifying bacteria. LifeRock is manmade and does not affect our natural resources, making it the perfect option for all marine fish, invertebrates, and corals.
Every LifeRock from CaribSea has an artificial coating and texture that mimics natural coralline algae after being in the ocean for years. Depending on the animals that you have in your aquarium, they may pick at the coating on the rocks which will not harm them at all, and over time live coralline algae will cover any spots on the rocks that may have had the coating picked off.
Branch style rocks can be tricky to aquascape but if you have some patience, beautiful structures can be created. In most cases mixing the branch rock with other types can create a very natural, open space appearance.
How many pieces are In each box?
On average 7-8 pieces are included in every box of LifeRock Branch Dry Live Rock
How big are the pieces?
Sizing can range from 12" up to 18"
Can I request specific shapes and sizes?
Unfortunately, we are unable to take requests for specific shapes and sizes for CaribSea LifeRock.
How much rock do I need?
Knowing exactly how much Dry Live Rock you will need can be one of the hardest questions to answer since every tank and rock will be slightly different. A general guideline for dry Live Rock, we suggest 1 pound of rock per gallon of display tank volume and may vary depending on your overall goal for the aquascape. We always recommend purchasing a little extra dry rock to ensure that you will have enough to complete the aquascape you are looking for, any extra rock can always be broken up and placed in your refugium, overflows, and sump for added filtration.

Safe Introduction of New Corals
DipX is a highly effective dip for safely introducing new corals and live rocks to your aquarium.
A simple 15-minute bath in DipX before placing a new coral in the aquarium will drive away unwanted “hitchhikers”, thereby maintaining the safety of your reef.
New corals often come with unwanted “hitchhikers” hidden deep inside the corals’ crevices. These various tiny creatures are usually invisible to the naked eye, and once in the aquarium, they can migrate to other corals and damage your delicate reef eco-system.
Over the years, reef hobbyists have used generic baths solutions such as fresh water, Iodine, and even household disinfectants, all of which repel some of the hitchhikers, but not all of them.
For the past few years, we have been cultivating tanks with infested corals and comparing a wide range of commercially available dips and other repelling ingredients, examining both their effectiveness and their overall safety for the corals.
The result is DipX – a unique blend of essential oils, without inorganic disinfectants. Our tests have shown that DipX is completely safe for all kinds of corals and more effective than any other solution we tested.
Corals that were bathed in DipX still repelled unwanted “hitchhikers”, even though they were previously dipped in other solutions On the other hand, corals that were dipped in other solutions after they were bathed in DipX did not repel anything.

The HI758U Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) provides a simple, accurate and cost-effective way to measure calcium. Required for the development of calcium carbonate skeletons of coral reefs, calcium is a crucial component of marine waters. Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI758U provides quick, accurate results in a few easy steps.
Features at-a-glance:
Easier to use and more accurate than chemical test kits
Dedicated to a single parameter
Small size, big convenience
Ideal for: Aquaculture, Water Quality, Environmental, Education
The HI758U Marine Calcium Checker HC® uses a 100 to 1 dilution for analysis and thus requires deionized or distilled water absent of calcium to function correctly. Calcium can be found in many freshwater sources and this any amount present in the water used at the C1 phase can cause false high readings. In addition, many hobby grade reverse osmosis deionized water systems may not adequately remove calcium. This can vary based on the types of filters used, their effectiveness and frequency of replacement. We recommend using deionized water with low conductivity or pure vapor distilled water commonly found in most pharmacies.
Never use tap water to clean your cuvettes. This is especially important for the HI758U Marine Calcium Checker as calcium is commonly present in tap water and residual amounts present in the cuvette will elevate results produced by the Checker. Our HI98703-50 Cuvette Cleaning Solution ensures the glass cuvette used for colorimetric measurements remains clean and free from imperfections.
Calcium Checker Troubleshooting Tips
Never rinse your cuvettes with tap water or saltwater
Use pure vapor distilled water from your local pharmacy at C1 phase. RODI water from home filtration units may not be suitable for this test as calcium can easily permeate through your filter membranes.
Clean your cuvettes with distilled or deionized water absent of Calcium that is going to be used for C1 phase dilution.
Measure out 9 ml of distilled or deionized water for C1 phase
Make sure no excess aquarium sample saltwater is on the tip of the pipette. Only administer the saltwater that is sucked into the pipette tip.

The new Deltec 400i 24v DC protein skimmer is suitable for aquariums from 100 up to 400 liters.
The Deltec 400i comes with some great safety features. Should the water level in the sump suddenly exceed the maximum depth for the skimmer, or the air feed becomes blocked, the new emergency overflow system prevents the collection cup from overflowing. As the water level rises within the protein skimmer the air feed to the pump will shut off automatically via the emergency overflow further reducing the chance of foam flooding the skimmer cup.
The base is a new hollow design where the water flows through to the level adjustment and indicator tubes. This new design feature means that water will exit the protein skimmer body from the lowest point greatly reducing the chance of micro bubbles escaping the body, increasing air- water contact time and also reducing noise and turbulence within the protein skimmer body.Removing the pump for cleaning and maintenance can be achieved in 20 seconds, thus keeping the skimmer running at optimal efficiency is a breeze. With the body of the skimmer being a cylinder and not tapered or conical shape, all the small air bubbles can rise unhindered, fully saturated and will only burst in the foam pot riser, adding to the efficiency and performance of Deltec skimmersProduct Details:
New footplace design allowing water to return through the footplate to aid degassing and reduce turbulence within the body
Highly efficient cylinder shape
New developed emergency overflow with water level indicator
Extremely quiet operation due to new hollow chamber floor
Extremely low power consumption
Quick and easy removal of the pump
Variable adjustable DC pump
Technical Details:
Aquarium Size 100 to 400 litres
Dimensions: 20.5 x 12,5 x 50.5 cm
Pump: Deltec DCC1
Power Consumption: 9 Watts with 350 liters of air (in normal operation)
For sumps with 15 to 25 cm water level
PumpThe Deltec Skimmer 400i is operated with the Deltec DCC1. With only 9 watts about 350 liters of air are generated.Cleaning SystemFor the Deltec Skimmer 400i, there is an optional cleaning head system, whereby the inner standpipe is cleaned by deposits by turning the connection cup. If these deposits are not removed at regular intervals, the skimming performance is drastically reduced over time as foam bubbles burst prematurely at this layer and thus cannot contribute to water purification.Cylindrical ShapeThanks to the ergonomic cylinder shape, the Deltec Skimmer 400i achieves the best skimming results. The shape of the skimmer does not taper upwards. This allows the small air bubbles to rise unhindered, are fully saturated and burst only in the riser of the connection cup. From there, the collected broth can be discharged via a drain hose without having to take the connection cup.
Emergency OverflowThe water level in the skimmer can be read off at the emergency overflow pipe. Furthermore, the marks for the minimum and maximum level help with the perfect adjustment of the water level. Due to the possibility of exchanging the emergency overflow pipe with the regulator pipe, you can decide for yourself how the pipes are arranged.Disassembly, Dimensions & ConstructionRegularly required cleaning of the pump is very easy thanks to the easy and fast disassembly of the skimmer. According to the manufacturer, the pump can be removed from the skimmer in a few seconds. The Deltec Skimmer 600i can be mounted and disassembled without tools. The dimensions of the skimmer are selected so that you can place them comfortably in your filter basin. Due to the high volume of the cylinder shape, a small base area is sufficient. You can operate the skimmer variably in 15 to 25 cm water depth.

These bacteria are compatible with biological filters and UV lights. The UV lights should be turned off for 48-72 hours after the introduction of this product. This will allow the bacteria to progress through their most active growth stage.
MICROBE-LIFT/Special Blend can not neutralize chlorine, chloramine or heavy metals.
MICROBE-LIFT/Special Blend works well with activated carbon and is compatible with copper based products.
Since each bottle of MICROBE-LIFT is grown individually, color variations may exist from bottle to bottle. These variations in color are not indicative of variations in product quality. Any floating particles present are suspended biofilm which slough off the sides of the bottle. Dimpling or expansion of the container is caused by pressure differences resulting from temperature variations due to the fact that the bottle is sealed.
*Saltwater environments - the bacteria in this product will remain effective when used in marine environments with a specific gravity of 1.017 to 1.025. In marine tanks, add the aquarium salt mix and allow the water to circulate for 24 hours, then check and adjust the density. Add the bacteria after the new water has circulated for the 24-hour period.
Saltwater oceans are a highly stable environment with very little fluctuation in pH. The ocean waters dilute fish waste and organic matter. The bacteria in MICROBE-LIFT/Special Blend provides the assistance needed to break down the decaying organic matter and cycle certain elements, e.g. nitrogen and sulfur, etc. which may build up in your tank.
This product is NOT a chemical. It is harmless to humans, animals, fish and plants. Since we cannot control the pre-existing dynamics of individual aquaria, the above information and instructions are subject to many variables. Many situations may be unique in nature.
MICROBE-LIFT/Special Blend has a hydrogen sulfide odor which will dissipate quickly.

Red Sea Coral Color D is a complex of 18 trace elements. These 18 elements (out of all the trace elements in NSW) participate in the metabolic processes inside a coral’s skeleton and soft tissue. D elements are related to the blue/purple chroma-proteins.Weekly dosing - Soft CoralsTest the Color Elements every week and dose each supplement to replenish back to the optimal levels.Daily dosing - SPS coralsEnsure that all of the Color Elements are at optimal values and run the aquarium for4 days at a stable salinity (compensate for evaporation daily) without adding anysupplements. At the end of the 4 days test the Color Elements and calculate the “4 day dosage” of each supplement to replenish back to the optimal levels. Add the “4 day dosage” to the system. Divide this “4 day dosage” by 4 and use as the daily dosage for the next week. After a week of adding the daily dosage, test the Color Elements and calculate the adjusting dosage of each supplement to replenish back to the optimal levels.
If the adjusting dosage is significantly different from the previous daily dosage amend (increase/decrease) the daily dosage as appropriate.
If the measured level of a specific element is above the optimal level wait for the excess of the element to be depleted before restarting the daily supplementation with the amended daily dosage.
Continue testing all of the elements every week and make adjustments to the dailydosages as required. As your corals grow or you add or remove livestock the uptake of the elements in your aquarium will gradually change. It is recommended to keep a log book of the weekly measurements and dosages. If you miss one or more days of supplementing add the complete amount that you have missed but do not exceed the maximum recommended daily increase for any of the elements.

High resolution display focuses on the range relevant for reef aquariums
Maintain proper salinity level with greater precision and convenience. Red Sea Seawater Refractometer is designed specifically to measure the absolute salinity of seawater, not brine (NaCl) for true readings essential for reef aquariums housing sensitive corals. High-resolution dual scale display (salinity in ppt and specific gravity) focuses on the range relevant for reef aquariums, eliminating confusing extraneous graduations. Dual scale range of 20-40 PPT/77°F and 1.010-1.030 S.G.
Red Sea Seawater Refractometer has been calibrated for the specific ionic content of seawater according to the most advanced international laboratory standards for practical salinity measurements. High accuracy seawater refractometer features Automatic Temperature Compensation for exceptional accuracy measuring the absolute salinity of seawater at a temperature of 25°C/77°F.
Main Features
Directly reads the absolute salinity of seawater at 25°C/77°F (no need for seawater or temperature compensation factors).
Specifically designed for the ionic content of seawater (NSW) for more accurate salinity measurement (industry standard refractometers are calibrated for salt brine).
Calibrated for seawater (NSW) at 25°C/77°F, the normal temperature range for reef aquariums (most standard refractometers are calibrated at 15°C/59°F).
Easier to read, higher resolution display, focused to the relevant range for reef aquariums of up to 40ppt.
Includes Integrated Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) for accurate measurement at standard ambient temperature.
Did You Know?Measuring the salinity of seawater with a refractometer calibrated for brine (NaCl) solution will result in a deviation of up to 1.5 ppt!
Directions for use
Clean the glass prism and translucent flap of the refractometer with deionized (DI) water at 22-25°C and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Hold the refractometer horizontally and open the flap.
Using the pipette provided, place a small sample of the seawater to be tested on the glass prism. Do not immerse the refractometer into the seawater.
Close the flap on the sample and wait for 15 seconds to allow for the temperature of the sample and the refractometer to equalize.
Point the prism end of the refractometer to a light source and look through the eyepiece. (Note: The refractive index is also dependent on the wavelength of the light source and therefore a light source close to daylight should be used.)
The top of the screen will be blue and the bottom will be clear/white. The dividing line between the blue and white sections is where the reading should be taken.
Adjust the focus for your individual eyesight by rotating the eyepiece until a sharp picture is achieved.
Read the seawater salinity in ppt and/or the equivalent specific gravity (S.G.) at 25°C.
Clean the glass prism and translucent flap of the refractometer with DI water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
CalibrationAlignment should always be carried out with the instrument at 22-25°C. Allow the refractometer to stand at this temperature for 30 minutes before alignment.
Remove the cover from the alignment screw.
Place a sample of DI water on the glass prism and check the salinity reading as directed above.
If the reading is not exactly on the zero ppt mark on the scale, adjust the position of the reading by rotating the alignment screw with the screwdriver provided until the reading is zero ppt.

General InformationRefractometers are optical instruments that measure the refractive index of a solution, which will vary according to its ionic composition, concentration and temperature. For accurate results, refractometers must be calibrated for the specific solution to be tested and in the correct temperature range.
Red Sea's Seawater Refractometer has been calibrated for the specific ionic content of seawater according to the most advanced international laboratory standards for practical salinity measurements. Measuring the salinity of seawater with a refractometer calibrated for brine (NaCl) solution will result in a deviation of up to 1.5 ppt.
Red Sea's Seawater Refractometer includes automatic temperature compensation. However, to avoid compensation errors, it has been calibrated at 25°C, the normal temperature range for reef aquariums. Both the ambient temperature and the water sample temperature will influence the refractive index and therefore it is recommended to use the refractometer in environments where the ambient temperature and the water to be tested are between 15-35°C.
Over time, the optical elements inside refractometers can become misaligned. Therefore, before first use and thereafter on a regular basis, the alignment of a refractometer should be checked and adjusted as necessary.
Red Sea's Refractometer DisplayThe PPT scale on Red Sea's Seawater refractometer is calculated using an algorithm for seawater and therefore will give a reading of the Absolute Salinity of seawater.
The PPT scale on regular salinity refractometers are calculated using an algorithm for Brine. Using a Brine refractometer for Seawater will give an error of approximately 1.5ppt in the salinity reading.
About SalinitySalinity is a general term describing the concentration of salt in water. However, solutions of different type of salts have different refractive indexes. Brine is a solution of Sodium Chloride (table salt) that contains 2 chemical elements. Seawater contains approximately 70 chemical elements that include Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium etc. in addition to the Sodium Chloride. Seawater and Brine of the same salinity (i.e. the same weight of salt/liter) have different refractive indexes and will give different salinity readings if measured on the same refractometer.
Refraction & Refractive IndexAll transparent materials such as liquids refract (distort) light. All transparent materials refract light differently and have what is called a "refractive index" which means how much a particular material distorts light. Different concentrations of the same liquid have different refractive indexes. The scale of a refractometer is calculated by using a mathematical algorithm that relates the measured refraction to its concentration for a specific liquid.
Refractive Index and TemperatureThe refractive index of liquids change with temperature and therefore has a major effect on measuring salinity with a refractometer. The algorithm for defining the PPT (and S.G.) scale for a refractometer is calculated for a specific temperature.
PPT readings from refractometers that are not calibrated for reef aquariums (i.e. 25°C) need to be adjusted according to a conversion table to give the actual PPT at the aquarium temperature. This is often a cause for misinterpretation of refractometer readings.
For example, using a seawater refractometer calibrated at 20°C will give a PPT reading that is approximately 1-1.5ppt lower than the absolute salinity of the same water sample at the normal aquarium temperature of 25°C.
Therefore, Red Sea's Seawater Refractometer calibrated at 25°C/77°F directly reads the absolute salinity of seawater with no need for temperature compensation factor)
ATC - Automatic Temperature CompensationTemperature is probably the biggest cause of wrong readings with a refractometer. Calibration and testing of water samples should be done after the refractometer and water sample have equalized at the correct temperature.
Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) compensates for a few degrees of difference between the ambient temperature and the calibrated temperature of the refractometer. Larger temperature variations will give an error of approximately 1.0ppt in the salinity reading.
NOTE: ATC does not adjust the PPT reading of a refractometer to the temperature of the aquarium.
