Clarity is the ultimate clarifier for both fresh and saltwater. It employs an advanced polymeric flocculating agent that is both reef and plant safe. Clarity is the only clarifier on the market that does it all! Clarity will clear all types of clouding.
Many companies manufacture multiple products to clear up each type of cloudiness and each different environment (e.g. freshwater, marine, reef, etc.). Some companies have developed products that will clear most types of cloudiness, but their application requires two separate bottles of product. Clarity contains compounds that will clear all types of cloudiness in all environments.
Clarity contains both precipitating and flocculating agents in the same bottle, enabling all types of cloudiness to be removed in one dose.
Upon adding Clarity to the water, you will see a cloudy haze begin to form. This is normal and means that Clarity is beginning to work. The water is filled with tiny pieces of floating matter that were not visible to the naked eye. Clarity makes those pieces of matter begin to clump together. As they clump together they form larger pieces of matter that are now visible, hence the cloudiness. Once this matter has clumped together, it is a simple matter of mechanical filtration to remove the residue. Matter that was once too small to get caught in filter media is now in large enough clumps.
In order for Clarity to work effectively, you should have a filter with mechanical filtration (e.g., filter floss) connected to your aquarium.

Equilibrium is specifically designed to establish the ideal mineral content for the planted aquarium. Equilibrium contains no sodium or chloride (which can be detrimental to a planted aquarium at elevated levels). Equilibrium is ideally suited for use with RO (reverse osmosis) or DI (deionized) water or any mineral deficient water. Equilibrium raises the essential mineral/electrolyte content (General Hardness) of the water to balance with and promote stability of the carbonate hardness. To maintain KH, we recommend Alkaline Buffer.
Unlike competing products, Equilibrium contains NO SODIUM CHLORIDE. Both sodium and chloride are not rapidly depleted elements in a planted aquarium, and, in the case of chloride, can do more harm than good. Competitors products generally contain primarily sodium chloride (because it is inexpensive), which will raise the electrolyte levels for fish, but can be detrimental to plant growth. Trace elements are normally depleted by utilization, oxidation and precipitation, thus it is important to restore them on a regular basis. Discus Trace contains only those elements actually demonstrated* to be required by fish.
Aquarium salt is often used to add salts back to aquarium water. Some fish will tolerate this therapeutic use of salt; however, some fish are less tolerant. Discus as a species will not tolerate this elevated level of sodium in the water. If you keep live plants in your discus aquarium, the plants will not tolerate this either. Discus Trace is a well rounded trace mineral supplement that does not contain sodium and is used to replenish trace and ultra trace minerals that are demonstrated to be necessary for fish health and growth.

Cichlid Lake Saltâ„¢ is a chemically sound blend of salts designed to replicate the natural environment of Rift Lake African Cichlids. It contains all physiologically essential elements such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, and includes trace components such as iron, aluminum, and iodide.
Although the major Rift Lakes contain basically the same mineral salts, they do so in greatly differing concentrations. Cichlid Lake Salt™ is formulated so that dosages vary depending on the lake of origin and need only be added when setting up an aquarium or with water changes. Many competing products are little more than combinations of Epsom salt and bicarbonate of soda. This will not provide a complete replication of the mineral salts that are contained in the lakes of Africa, in particular calcium and potassium. One of the most powerful ways to improve tank performance is also the simplest: Regular water change in a mindful way.
It is practiced in the largest world-class aquariums, and should be done even in a the smallest desktop tank. While a tank looks naturalistic, it is not naturally self-sustaining. Organic waste (much of which cannot be measured by hobbyist test kits) accumulates and not everything can be digested by the tank’s bio-filter.

The #1 algae trigger is decomposing organic matter. Remove all decaying leaves. Stem plants require replanting after pruning a few times. Unlike terrestrial hardwoods, older aquatic stems generally deteriorate over time. Remove and discard old stems and roots.
Instead of simply draining water, use a pipette or turkey baster to gently stir up detritus on the surface of plants and substrate. Take care not to stir up deeper levels of the substrate. Vacuum the detritus away while draining away around 40% of the tank’s water.
Add a comprehensive 360 water conditioner directly into the tank and refill, taking care not to stir up the deeper levels of substrate. If you are keeping sensitive livestock, pre-mix the water conditioner in a separate container before adding the conditioned water into the aquarium.

Industrial water chlorination dates back to the 1890s in Germany and the UK.
Today most urban tap water contains between 0.2ppm and 2ppm of Chlorine and Chloramines ( a more stable form of Chlorine).
This is high enough to kill water-borne diseases, but low enough for human consumption. However this level is sufficient to harm fish and destroy the beneficial bacteria in an aquarium.
