Gray Coast Calcite is an all natural calcite substrate for all types of marine, reef and tropical aquaria. Unlike competing “wetâ€gravels, Gray Coast is sold dry: this bag contains 35% more gravel than a bag of wet gravel of equal weight. These “wet†gravels are marketed to give one the impression that they contain living, microscopic animals when in fact they only contain common bacteria. Dry or wet, there are bacteria on every substrate. If one is concerned with shortening the aquarium cycle time for a new system, then the use of a product designed for that particular purpose would be more appropriate (such as Seachem’s Stability®).

fuel™ is a comprehensive carbohydrate, vitamin, amino acid, polyunsaturated fatty acid, and trace element supplement developed to address nutritional requirements commonly associated with corals. fuel™ contains ascorbic acid in a base of chlorella, which contains a rich assortment of amino acids and vitamins. The health benefits of chlorella are widely known and while spirulina, a similar algae, has been regularly used in the industry, aquavitro is the first to utilize the vastly superior chlorella. fuel™ is formulated to provide nutrients available from natural tropical reef waters.
Chlorella is a unique algae that grows in fresh water. It is extremely high in enzymes, vitamins and minerals, including the full vitamin-B Complex. It is over-flowing with unsaturated fatty acids, amino acids, and proteins. There are also vitamins found in Chlorella including: Vitamin C, pro-vitamin A (B-carotene), thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), pyridoxine (B6), niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid, Vitamin B12, biotin, choline, Vitamin K, lipoic acid, and inositol. A frequent occurrence in reef systems is low pH, while calcium and alkalinity are at optimal levels. Raise one and the others may fall. One of the primary reasons for this is an improper carbonate/bicarbonate ratio. The buffer ratio changes as a natural consequence of the buffer's ability to counteract acidifying sources such as organic acids (produced naturally from waste) or introduced from non-pH controlled husbandry products. In this case, adding more buffer would unnecessarily result in a rise in alkalinity and a drop in calcium. The first product of its kind, balance™ ends this see-saw effect. It resets this ratio by converting bicarbonate into carbonate in order to reassert a higher pH without affecting calcium level.
balance™ is an optimized blend of sodium and potassium hydroxides with a NSW ratio (27:1) of sodium to potassium to avoid ionic imbalance with long term use.
aquavitro offers other solutions designed to address the unique challenge of raising pH in a reef environment. Ions addresses the problem of low magnesium which is a cause of low buffering pK and pH. Eight.four addresses deficiencies in pK found in competing products by providing a properly balanced (carbonate/bicarbonate) buffer system.

The Ultra Zap PRO is supplied with a Quartz Sleeve. The tubes attached to the U.V Sterilizer need to be checked and replaced every 9-12 months. The quartz sleeve prevents water from coming into contact with the UV tube and so can be used in marine or salt water ponds and food production facilities.
Fish ponds, tanks, aquaponic systems, or hydroponic systems with green algae is unpleasant and makes it really hard to determine if your fish have diseases or are possibly injured. The green algae build up also runs the risk of starving the fish and plants of the required oxygen levels. However, when utilising algaecides you may run the risk of over-treatment and possible chemical build within your system. The inhabitants, fish and plants within your system are to a degree sensitive to such algaecides and may affect them.
What does the U.V Steriliser actually do?
The UV Steriliser is important to maintain a clear fish tank or pond throughout the year without adding chemicals that may affect the fish. The unit works by exposing the phototropic micro-organisms (free floating single cell algae) to a dose of U.V. radiation. The U.V. Steriliser effectively assists in destroying harmful pathogens and algae that may exist within your system especially during the warmer months of the year. A U.V. steriliser is used to control infections by stopping the spread of microorganisms from one fish/coral/invertebrate to another through the water. It is also utilised in pond applications, aquaponic and hydroponic systems in order to control free-floating algae.
When operated correctly, free-floating microorganisms will be killed by the UV light. Note that the organisms must be in the water that flows to the UV steriliser. The Ultra Zap U.V. Steriliser will have no effect on the on the inhabitants that exist within your fish tank, water tank, or fish pond. The UV light has no residual effect and will not kill organisms attached to fish.
Installing the U.V. Steriliser
The UV steriliser should be the last piece of equipment in the system before the water is returned to the pond. It should be preceded by the biological and mechanical filters, and any chemical filter or heat exchanger in the system. These units have 50mm inlets and outlets and we use normal 50mm PVC pipe to join them into our systems.
The correct size is about the only complicated part to the use of a sterilizer. For proper use, the UV sterilizer must be matched to the proper flow rate to ensure an efficient kill dose for the organisms you wish to eliminate.

This off-the-shelf coral food makes feeding your corals so much easier and efficient. Their soft semi-moist pellet structure ensures an optimal acceptance and digestion. Besides that the pellets are packed with selected molecules to trigger feeding response. Comes in two pellet sizes. The small pellets (+- 2.5mm) are developed for Ricordea and smaller LPS corals (such as Acanthastrea, Blastomussa, Lobophyllia,…). They consist of small fresh planktonic prey items like copepods. For larger LPS corals we formulated a diet with larger planktonic prey items like krill. These pellets are around 6mm, perfect for corals like Scolymia, Lobophyllia, Trachyphyllia, Duncanopsammia and Catalaphyllia. Feed your corals every other day. Designed to hang on a sump wall to conserve space, but also including mounting legs, you can place the ReefMat anywhere you want in your sump that has the space available. Both the drive unit and inlet hose can be positioned on either side of the ReefMat making installation work for any sump set up.
The ReefMat 500 comes with one 28m fleece roll. Each roll should last roughly 5-8 weeks on a moderately stocked 80 gallon reef system; however, bare-bottom tanks will typically exhaust rolls at a faster rate. Additionally, usage rate may be significantly higher for the first few weeks after installing a ReefMat while your system adjusts to the new level of mechanical filtration.
