The AQUAEL TURBO FILTER is designed for the cleaning and aeration of aquarium water. This quiet and energy-efficient filter provides double (mechanical and biological) filtration out of the box. It is compatible with any biological or chemical filter cartridges offered by AQUAEL, such as BioCeraMAX Pro 600, BioCeraMAX Pro 1200, BioCeraMAX Pro 1600, ZeoMAX PLUS, CarboMAX PLUS, NitroMAX PRO, PhosMAX BASIC, and PhosMAX PRO.
The sealed rotor chamber ensures high efficiency at a relatively low level of power consumption. All the AQUAEL TURBO FILTER models are equipped with special shock-absorbing suction cups to dampen vibrations that may be carried to the glass and to muffle the operation of the device. The larger models, TURBO FILTER 1000, 1500, and 2000, are equipped with a ceramic rotor axis for even quieter operation and enhanced durability.
Thanks to the special design of AQUAEL TURBO internal filters, they are easily expandable. The filter media containers can be filled with any filter medium, as required.
The starter kit includes:
a container for loose filter media with a capacity of 250ml in the TURBO FILTER 500 model and 625ml in the TURBO FILTER 1000, 1500, and 2000 models,
one BioCeraMAX Pro 600 cartridge for biological filtration,

Flourish Excelâ„¢ is a source of bioavailable organic carbon. All plants require a source of carbon. This is typically obtained from CO2, but, may also be derived from simple organic compounds (such as photosynthetic intermediates). The use of either CO2 injection or Flourish Excelâ„¢ does not necessarily negate the use of the other. Because the processes of producing photosynthetic intermediates and building onto them occur simultaneously, one can derive a substantial benefit with the use of Flourish Excelâ„¢ either alone or in conjunction with CO2 . The combination is particularly ideal for situations when continuing to add CO2 could result in dangerously low pH levels. Flourish Excelâ„¢ also has iron reducing properties which promote the ferrous state of iron (Fe+2), which is more easily utilized by plants than ferric iron (Fe+3).
The reason plants need CO2 is to produce longer chain carbon compounds also known as photosynthetic intermediates. Photosynthetic intermediates includes compounds such as ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate, and 2-carboxy-3-keto-D-arabinitol 1,5 bisphosphate. Although the names are complicated, the structures are quite simple (5 carbon chains). Flourish Excelâ„¢ does not contain these specific compounds per se, but one that is quite similar. By dosing with Flourish Excelâ„¢ you bypass the involvement of CO2 and introduce the already finished, structurally similar compounds. It is in its structural similarity that Flourish Excelâ„¢ is able to be utilized in the carbon chain building process of photosynthesis. Simple chemical or enzymatic steps can easily convert it to any one to any one of the above named compounds (or a variety of others).

The Single stage regulator with adjustable pressure will reduce the high pressure of a CO2 cylinder to a lower and usable pressure for use in the aquarium. The ability to adjust the working/output pressure ensures the regulator will be able to meet the needs of any aquarium requirements; whether that is operating a single CO2 diffuser, or multiple diffusers, this regulator can be adjusted to deliver the pressure that's needed.A high-precision needle valve is fitted as standard, which gives you easy and incredibly accurate control of CO2 dosing. As a result, the regulator is suitable for small/nano aquariums as the bubble rate (dose) can be reduced as low as 1 bubble / 10 seconds.Because the needle valve can rotate, the regulator can be used with either horizontal or vertical cylinder valves. The stem/nut can also be removed and can then connect to nano cartridges, making the regulator suitable for nano aquariums, and much larger aquariums.The integrated solenoid valve provides the ability to automatically shut off the CO2 at timed intervals, e.g. to sync with the aquarium lighting. This ensure CO2 is not being dosed when it's not needed, and will therefore extend the lifespan of your CO2 cylinder and save money. The 12v DC solenoid (mains transformer included) provides safe, low temperature, and guaranteed no noise operation.Dual pressure gauges indicate the cylinder pressure and the output / working pressure.
Instructions
Tighten the regulator to your CO2 cylinder using a spanner or wrench. Do not use your hands to tighten, it will not create sufficient seal and be likely to leak.
Set the output pressure to minimum by turning the pressure adjuster knob fully anticlockwise.
Close the needle valve by turning fully clockwise.
Plug the solenoid into a mains socket and switch on.
Open the flow of gas from your CO2 cylinder.
The cylinder pressure gauge will now indicate the pressure of the cylinder. Turn the pressure adjuster clockwise until it reads 40PSI, which is a good starting point for a single diffuser installation.
With the bubble counter attached, turn the needle valve anticlockwise to achieve the bubble rate desired. 1 bubble / second is suitable for a 150L aquarium - adjust your dosing in accordance to this, i.e. 2 bubble / second for 300L aquarium.
