A unique blend of sediments that duplicate tropical fringing coastal mangrove environments. Mineral Mud™ particles are in a size range compatible with soft, burrowing infaunal, macro animal assemblages. Ideal for mud refugiums, seagrasses, macro-algaes, and mangroves, Mineral Mud™ provides a variety of trace elements plus calcium, strontium, iron, sulfur and free carbon. In addition, Mineral Mud™ contains live marine bacteria to complete the tropical ecosystem. Frequently Asked Questions In what type of reactor would I use Mineral Mud™? Mineral Mud™ is actually a refugium media that is meant to be used in a refugium type aquarium with lighting and with plants and algae growing in it. Mineral Mud™ quickly establishes an anaerobic denitrifying bed and acts as a wonderful media for growing most types of marine aquatic plants and algae. This creates an ideal environment for nutrient export, (through algae and plants), and micro faunal growth. It can be used alone or with a ½ to 1” cap of live or dry aragonite Directions For mud filters, empty jar into filter, then mix slightly, and add water (a “cap” of approximately 1/2 to 1 inch of live or dry aragonite sand is suggested). Wait 2-3 days, then begin pumps, and allow system to clear water (may take 1-2 days). Then add macro-algae, seagrasses, or mangroves. Allow tank to cycle, then add fish and corals into main tank. If using Mineral Mud™ in main tank, mix into a small area where you intend to plant your macro-algaes, seagrasses, or mangroves. Do not cover the entire tank bottom. Run pumps for a day or two until water clears, then add plants. NOTE: This substrate contains marine organics, and was created to mimic coastal marine mangrove environments. It is designed to reach anaerobic conditions within an inch of the sub-strate/water interface. Once established, avoid disturbing the bed.

10 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

The ATI Phosphat Stop Filter Media for Aquariums is a high-efficiency phosphate absorber based on iron hydroxide. It is capable of removing phosphate from both seawater and freshwater quickly and efficiently. It eliminates phosphate, silicate, arsenic, and other dissolved organic waste while also preventing algae formation and improving coral health. The phosphate cannot be released once it has been bound. Even if it is left after its service life has expired, nothing is leached back into the water. ATI phosphate stop is ideal for use in reef aquariums because it does not introduce any harmful substances into the water and may aid in the reduction of certain heavy metals

Iodide is a critical element for the health and formation of soft tissue in invertebrates (such as gorgonians, sarcophytons, etc). It has also been shown to be critical for the development of pigments in corals, corallimorpharia, and anemones, both the golden brown of zooxanthellae and the green and red colors of accessory pigments. Most iodide supplements on the market are simply potassium iodide. When added to an aquarium environment, iodide becomes unstable converting to elemental iodine (which is biocidal) and iodate (which is useless to corals, toxic at elevated levels, and can't be tested for). Iodide is the only form of iodine available to corals for uptake. Because of this instability, iodide must be stabilized for aquarium use. vibrance™ is a highly concentrated (10,000 mg/L) naturally stabilized potassium iodide source for reef aquaria that will restore and maintain iodide levels to those found in natural sea water. Our proprietary stabilization process makes vibrance™ the most stable iodide supplement available. It's also the most concentrated and comes with a pipette for precision dosing. It is formulated to provide a safe source of iodide that will not convert to toxic free iodine under storage or reef conditions.

Phosfiltrum is a specially formulated, high-density, granular ferric oxide (GFO). It will rapidly remove phosphates and silicates from both freshwater and saltwater and will not release them back into your aquarium. It is much harder and consequently much less fragile than other GFOs, so it will not break apart into fine particles in your tank. It has the highest binding capacity of any phosphate remover on the market, so it will last much longer before it needs to be replaced. Its distinctive dark brown color identifies it as the premier product in the industry.

    Aquavitro Aquavitro Alpha

15 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

A paramount factor in the proper maintenance of an aquarium is the dilution of accumulated waste by scheduled water changes. This requires the removal of chlorine or chloramine or both from the new water. With the advent of chloramine, thiosulfate has proven inadequate, causing the release of ammonia. At acid or neutral pH, this is not of serious consequence. However, at alkaline pH it can be devastating, particularly if the tap water is heavily treated with chloramines. alpha™ is a concentrated conditioner for saltwater. It is 50% more active than our Prime® and 375% more active than the next closest competitor. alpha™ removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. It converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily utilized by beneficial bacteria and reef inhabitants such as clams. alpha™ may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. alpha™ detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. alpha™ also promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime coat on fish. alpha™ is non-acidic and will not impact pH, nor will it over activate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water.

  • 4-Part Complete Reef Care Dosing System 4-Part Complete Reef Care Dosing System

Red Sea 4-Part Complete Reef Care Dosing System

5 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

As Simple as 4 Bottles and 1 Test Per Week 36 Major, Minor, and Trace Elements Pairs Seamlessly with ReefDose 4 Dosing Pump Three Sizes Available to Match Your Tank Size The new Complete Reef Care is based on Red Sea's 30 years of research into the needs of corals in artificial environments. It's a proven solution for optimal coral growth and coloration, providing you with a stunning and healthy tank. Complete Reef Care replenishes all 36 major, minor, and trace elements that get used up regularly by corals. These elements get used up in relatively predictable ratios, so Red Sea recommends testing calcium once per week to determine the dosages of all 4 parts.   How Much Should I Dose? Bottle 1 (Calcium): Start by dosing the recommended amount on the bottle. Bottle 2 (Alkalinity): Dose 2x the volume of your bottle 1 dose. Bottle 3 (Iodine & Potassium): Dose 1/2 the volume of your bottle 1 dose. Bottle 4 (Iron & Bioactive Elements): Dose 1/2 the volume of your bottle 1 dose.   ReefDose 4 Ready (sold separately) The ReefDose 4 conveniently has just the right number of dosing heads for the Complete Reef Care dosing system. When Connected to the ReefDose, your ReefBeat app will automatically adjust the dosages of bottles 2, 3, and 4 based on your selected dosage volume of bottle 1, making automated dosing to your reef tank easier than it's ever been. Better yet, since the four parts are provided in the same ratio that they should be dose in, you'll finish all four bottles at exactly the same time.   Multiple Sizes Available Small: Recommended for aquariums up to 40 gallons (approx. 3 month supply) Medium: Recommended for aquariums up to 80 gallons (approx. 3 month supply) Large: Recommended for aquariums larger than 160 gallons (approx. 3 month supply)   Note: If your aquarium utilizes a macro algae refugium, Red Sea recommends using their 7-part Reef Foundation and Trace Colors system instead. This way, you can adjust individual trace elements to account for their unique uptake ratio by macro algae.
