Meridian is an all natural oolitic (spherical or egg shaped) aragonite substrate for all reef and marine aquaria. Meridian is the premium aragonite substrate for the reef aquaria. It's grain size (a fairly uniform 0.25 - 0.50 mm) is ideally suited to reef inhabitants and it's chemical composition will assist in stabilizing calcium and alkalinity while preventing large pH declines. Unlike competing "wet" products marketed under the guise of being "live", Meridian is sold dry, thus you pay only for gravel and not for unneeded water. These products imply that they contain living, microscopic animals when in fact they only contain common bacteria. Dry or wet, there are bacteria on every substrate available. If one is concerned with shortening the aquarium cycle time for a new system, then the use of a product designed for that particular purpose would be more appropriate (such as Seachem’s Stability®).

Phosphate has several negative effects if present in a too high concentration. First of all undesirable algae growth might result. Making an aquarium an unpleasant sight.
Phosphate also blocks or retards the growth of corals and calcareous algae.
One of the scientific studies shows that a phosphate concentration higher than 0.05 mg/L decreases the growth of calcareous algae by 90%!
Washing fish food, which is a rich source for phosphates in a sieve after thawing reduces the input of phosphate tremendously. Also avoiding use of phosphate-rich low-grade activated carbon helps keep phosphate levels as low as possible. Checking the activated carbon for phosphate prior to use is therefore highly recommended.

KanaPlex is a blended kanamycin based medication that safely and effectively treats several fungal, and bacterial fish diseases (dropsy, popeye, fin/tail rot, septicemia). Because it is absorbed by fish it is useful in treating internal infections in those situations where food is refused. It does not adversely affect the filter bed and is easily removed with carbon. At the endof the 4 days test the alkalinity and calculate the “4 day dosage” to replenish back to theoptimal levels. Add the “4 day dosage” to the system. Divide this “4 day dosage” by 4 and use as the daily dosage for the next week.After a week of adding the daily dosage, test the alkalinity and calculate the adjusting dosage of each supplement to replenish back to the optimal levels.
If the adjusting dosage is significantly different from the previous daily dosage amend (increase/decrease) the daily dosage as appropriate.
If the measured level is above the optimal level wait for the excess to be depleted before restarting the daily supplementation with the amended daily dosage.
Continue testing alkalinity every week and make adjustments to the daily dosages asrequired. If you miss one or more days of supplementing add the complete amount that you have missed but do not exceed the maximum recommended daily increase.

Rails In All Lengths
Tanks come in a lot of shapes and sizes. To accommodate the vast majority of commercially available and custom aquariums the RMS multi-light rails start at 20.5 inches and increase in 10 inch increments to 90.5 inch. The multi-light RMS allows for adjustment of the rail with respect to the arms – meaning that even if your tank is not a common length – there is a rail length that will work for you.
Mix and Match
A single Multi-Light RMS setup can accommodate both XR15 and XR30 model Radions on the same rail.
RMS Hanging Kit
The RMS Hanging Kit provides yet more versatility to the already highly flexible RMS system. With the RMS hanging kit you can suspend a RMS track holding multiple slides and Radions over your aquarium. Ideal for situations where you would like to use the RMS slide and track system but do not have the ability to use the arms. Kit includes brackets and hanging hardware. RMS track sold separately.
