Anubias barteri var. nana 'Stardust' is an extraordinary variety of dwarf spear leaf that immediately catches the eye with its unique leaf pattern. The name “Stardust” refers to the characteristic pattern of the leaves: fine, light dots on a dark green background are reminiscent of a starry night sky. Each plant displays an individual distribution of this fascinating pattern.
As with all Anubias, this is a very robust plant that attaches itself to surfaces. It grows best when tied or glued to roots or stones.
With its compact, slow growth, Anubias barteri var. nana 'Stardust' is ideal for smaller aquariums and detailed aquascaping layouts. Its undemanding care also makes it the ideal choice for beginners and experienced aquarists alike.

Planted root wood with suction cups are especially designed to be attached to the aquarium glass. It projects directly into the underwater landscape and provides a special ambience.
The big-leaved Anubias barteri grows much more voluminously than the variant 'nana' and therefore needs a little more space to grow. Like all Anubias species, it grows very slowly, so the root with suction cups can also be placed in an aquarium of 40 liters.

Anubias Barteri is a very variable plant with many different variaties. The glabra variety is sometimes incorrectly referred to as Anubias lanceolata. The narrow elliptical and smooth-edged leaves are typical of this vigorous aquarium plant. Growing submersed in the aquarium it remains significantly smaller compared to the emersed form. Additional water movement, such as near a filter putlet, promotes the growth significantly. The culture and also care are very simple and therefore it is very suitable for beginners. Anubias barteri var. glabra can also be planted in course substrate.

The new Anubias 'Kirin' is a beautiful cultivated form of the dwarf spear leaf. The name Kirin comes from East Asia and describes a dragon-like mythical creature with one or two horns. The skin of this imaginary animal is covered with scales - perhaps a reference to the strongly curled leaf edges. Like all Anubias, this novelty is undemanding in care and particularly hardy. Mounted on stones or roots, the variety 'Kirin' is a new highlight for every plant lover!

Anubias Barteri Round AKA Anubias Golden Coin is a less common type of Anubias that's fast becoming popular in the hobby. This is an extremely easy plant to grow and can survive a wide range of water parameters. It has long stems like Anubias Barteri but the leaves are more round and circular. This plant is suitable as a midground and background of your aquascape.
Like other Anubias plants it can grow in both aquariums and terrariums either submerged or emersed. The plant can be attached directly onto driftwood, rocks or any aquarium decoration using thread or glue. Make sure to keep the rhizomes above your substrate or the plant can begin to rot. Propagation is easy and straightforward; simply cut or pull apart rhizomes to be replanted.
Key Features & Important Notes:
Anubias are strong plants that can thrive in a variety of environments.
These epiphytes can be planted above the substrate or attached to hardscape.
Burying the rhizome, will cause the plant to melt and die.
Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth.
Remove tissue culture gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.
Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.

A new and very special Anubias nana variety is the color variant 'Jade'. The variety name refers to the most important gemstone in China - the jade. The color of jade includes all shades of green and often shows a special grain in the form of small veins, stripes and spots. On closer inspection, these small spots can also be seen in the new Anubias 'Jade'. The leaf color looks especially contrasting to dark green plants in the foreground. The culture is as with almost all Anubias problem-free and simple - the plant grows best on wood and stones. Especially recommended for small aquariums and aquascaping.

The Pinto´Anubias is a quirk of nature that has been propagated from a normal green population using selection. The light green variegation can be more or less pronounced, so only the most beautiful plants are propagated further in the production plant. This variety is very slow-growing and requires more light than the original green form. Due to its small size, the ‘Pinto‘ makes an attractive addition to Nano Cubes and can be used as „eye-catcher“ in aquascaping. This new plant creates excellent contrast on black lava rock and on dark colored roots.

A very striking and unusual plant is Aponogeton madagascariensis. As its name suggests, it comes from the island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. The grid-like appearance of the leaves is unique and a real eye-catcher. However, the species is quite demanding in care, even for the plant connoisseur. A stronger water movement and cooler water are an advantage. Regular resting periods with low temperatures and less lighting must be observed in order to enjoy this beauty permanently.

One of the most powerful ways to improve tank performance is also the simplest: Regular water change in a mindful way.
It is practiced in the largest world-class aquariums, and should be done even in a the smallest desktop tank. While a tank looks naturalistic, it is not naturally self-sustaining. Organic waste (much of which cannot be measured by hobbyist test kits) accumulates and not everything can be digested by the tank’s bio-filter.
Embrace the power: Change Water the 2Hr Way today.
The #1 algae trigger is decomposing organic matter. Remove all decaying leaves. Stem plants require replanting after pruning a few times. Unlike terrestrial hardwoods, older aquatic stems generally deteriorate over time. Remove and discard old stems and roots.
Instead of simply draining water, use a pipette or turkey baster to gently stir up detritus on the surface of plants and substrate. Take care not to stir up deeper levels of the substrate. Vacuum the detritus away while draining away around 40% of the tank’s water.
Add a comprehensive 360 water conditioner directly into the tank and refill, taking care not to stir up the deeper levels of substrate. If you are keeping sensitive livestock, pre-mix the water conditioner in a separate container before adding the conditioned water into the aquarium.
tap water today
Industrial water chlorination dates back to the 1890s in Germany and the UK.
Today most urban tap water contains between 0.2ppm and 2ppm of Chlorine and Chloramines ( a more stable form of Chlorine).
This is high enough to kill water-borne diseases, but low enough for human consumption. However this level is sufficient to harm fish and destroy the beneficial bacteria in an aquarium.
regular water change
It is worth the effort to change ~40% of the tank water regularly.
At least monthly for a slow growing, fully planted tank with a light fish load. More frequently for tanks with higher bio loads.
Regular water change helps keep algae at bay by removing organic waste that is not digested by microbial action (and not measurable by hobbyist test kits).
When performed the 2Hr Way, it significantly reduces the prime algae triggers of detritus and decaying matter. It also helps to remove algae spores.

Discover new possibilities with SKY-boosted water.Enable shrimps and hardwater plants to thrive together with softwater plants*.Replenish all vital minerals in RO/ RODI water with no negative altering of NPK, KH or pH.Each 3.5g / 5ml per 60L adds 12ppm Calcium and 3.5ppm Magnesium (+2.5 dGH)Recommended: 15ml per 60L of RO/RODI water.
*To grow softwater plants, RO/RODI water recommended if tap water measures >2 dKH
APT SKY resolves the key conundrum of how to increase water hardness (specifically as a GH booster) without altering NPK values (which interfere with the calibrated ratios of fertilisers) and KH (where higher values are not favoured by most commercial aquatic plants).
