• Epic Aquatics Hygrophila pinnatifida

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Hygrophila pinnatifida

20 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Hygrophila pinnatifida originates from India and is a relative newcomer to the planted aquarium market, making it a rather exciting and unusual. It obtains brown, patched leaves on the surface with a distinctive burgundy colour underneath. It creates horizontal side shoots and the top shoots should be pinched out in order to maintain compact and attractive growth. The horizontal side shoots easily attach to both wood and rocks. Hygrophila pinnatifida Growth is moderate, stems 15-40 cm tall and 10-20 cm wide, and the colour is attractive when planted in small groups with a plain background. Intense lighting ensures compact growth due to the plant’s slow to medium growth rate. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

  • Epic Aquatics Hygrophila polysperma

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Hygrophila polysperma

13 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Hygrophila polysperma from tropical Asia is one of the hardiest aquarium plants available. The shoots becomes 25-40 cm tall and 4-8 cm wide. It is particularly good for beginners because it grows in almost all conditions. It is also recommendable for initial planting of tanks because it quickly removes excess nutrients from the water and competes with algae. The East Indian Hygrophila normally grows so fast that it is important to prevent it crowding out other plants, so the shoots must be cut regularly. As well as other stem plants, it is easily propagated by cuttings. Even detached leaves floating on the surface form small new plants. Hygrophila polysperma is a very variable species with different leaf shape and colour, depending to some extent on the light supplied. “Standard” H. polysperma develops under water oval to lanceolate, light green to somewhat brownish leaves. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

  • Epic Aquatics Lilaeopsis brasiliensis

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Lilaeopsis brasiliensis

16 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Lilaeopsis brasiliensis can grow very densely, but it only grows like a lawn under very intensive light. When planting, make small tufts and put them into the ground with a distance of only a few centimetres, as the plants form an uninterrupted lawn more easily this way. The planted area should be without shade so the Lilaeopsis brasiliensis plants get sufficient light. Also suitable for a garden pond, and it tolerates the low salinity of a brackish water aquarium. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

  • Epic Aquatics Ludwigia arcuata

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Ludwigia arcuata

18 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Ludwigia arcuata is one of the most delicatelooking Ludwigia species. It is widely spread in aquaristics and originates in the southeast of the USA, where it grows creeping or submersed along rivers and on the edges of ponds. It is also found in boggy areas.L arcuata is as easy as propagating any stem plant, and as this species tends to have lots of lateral shoots they just have to be cut off and re-planted. You can also take cuttings of the top shoot. Due to its delicate structure, Ludwigia arcuata ought to be planted in groups of at least 6 stems. It needs more light to develop a red stem and red leaves, and it does best in slightly acidic soft to medium-hard water. Most decorative when planted in groups. Due to its small size Ludwigia arcuata is suitable for smaller tanks. In its emerged form it can be used as creeping terrarium plant, and if it has sufficient light it will sprout relatively large yellow flowers. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

  • Epic Aquatics Ludwigia repens

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Ludwigia repens

14 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Ludwigia repens is one of the easiest red plants to grow in the aquarium, being able to grow in even lower light conditions. It also makes an excellent candidate for moderately lit, non-CO2 aquaria. When lit well, the plant will grow at an angle over the substrate instead of straight up. To encourage red coloration, Ludwigia repens should be kept well-lit with no shading and heavy iron dosing will help produce intense colors out of this plant. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

Marsilea hirsuta is a carpet-plant from Australia. A fascinating plant, usually delivered with leaves like a four-leaf clover. After a transitional period it develops different types of leaves, possibly a low form with single leaves like a large Glossostigma, or alternatively develop two, three or four-lobed leaves varying in height ,depending on the growth conditions. Whichever form the plant adopts, it forms runners and spreads rapidly round the aquarium. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

Ranunculus inundates -The river buttercup from Australia, Ranunculus inundatus, is also sold with the label “Ranunculus papulentus”. It is a true eye-catcher with its unique palmate fresh green leaves and its creeping growth habit. To live up to its full potential, this Ranunculus needs lots of light to prevent it from forming too long leaf stalks. Ranunculus inundatus can also be cultivated as bog plant in shallow water or wet soil. Under good conditions it will form its small yellow flowers then. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Rotala sp. ‘Green’ is very similar to Rotala rotundifolia, but its leaves remain fresh and bright green, even with intensive light. Stems becomes 40-50 cm long and 2-3 cm wide. The plant forms many side shoots willingly and obtains a beautiful, bushy and “hanging” growth. It should be pruned frequently to maintain healthy growth. An ideal starter plant that looks best when planted in large groups. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Rotala Ceylon

9 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Rotala rotundifolia ‘Ceylon’ was originally introduced from Sri Lanka (Ceylon). R. sp. ‘Pink’ since about 2012 This pretty Rotala rotundifolia form was often used by Takashi Amano for his aquascapes. Since about 2012 it is also called Rotala sp. ‘Pink’, however this name is also used for a different Rotala rotundifolia variant. In its submerged form, ‘Ceylon’ differs from “normal” Rotala rotundifolia by a looser, lighter growth habit. The stems are thinner, darker coloured and tend to grow upward in wide spirals. The internodes are relatively long, the leaves are light green with pink lower side. Under lots of light, the shoot tips can assume light-reddish hues. The Ceylon Rotala is as easy to care for as “standard” Rotala rotundifolia. It is recommendable as a bush in the midground to background. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Rotala colorata

18 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Rotala sp. ‘Colorata’ is very probably a variant of the variable species Rotala rotundifolia. Often it is also labeled with the erroneous name “Rotala indica”. In comparison with “standard” R. rotundifolia, this Rotala assumes an especially intensive light red to orange red colour, especially if it is under good light. The leaves are narrow lineal. The stems have an overhanging to horizontal growth habit and form dense bushes as they ramify readily, just like Rotala sp. “Green”, which is always light green. Rotala sp. ‘Colorata’ is a good combination partner for it. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

  • Epic Aquatics Rotala h'ra

Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Rotala h'ra

19 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Rotala sp. “H’Ra” or “Gia Lai” is a new plant from Vietnam. It is probably a local variant of the species Rotala rotundifolia. The plant has been named after its location H’Ra in the province of Gia Lai in central Vietnam. Rotala sp. “H’Ra” or “Gia Lai” has narrow leaves and develops a nice light orange to red colour under good lighting. It has the same elegant growth habit as the light green Rotala sp. “Green”: overhanging to horizontal ramified stems. When combined with Rotala sp. “Green”, Rotala sp. “H’Ra” will be especially effective. Rotala sp. “H’Ra” or “Gia Lai” differs from the similar Rotala sp. “Colorata” by lighter-coloured narrower leaves and more overhanging stems when cultivated under the same conditions. Notes: Rotala has fragile leaves! Be sure to handle with care. Final coloration is ultimately dependent upon the conditions this plant is kept in. This is a live plant meaning size, shape and color may vary. Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant. Please be sure to remove this plant from its wrap. Remove the foam surrounding the roots and plant into a quality substrate. CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth. Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives. Just like fish, live plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape

2 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Epic Root Tabs are extremely powerful. 1 tab treats a 10 x 10 square inch surface area and lasts for 2 – 3 months. We have tested this product in numerous tanks and it is not harmful to living organisms such as fish and aquatic plants when used correctly. All of our Epic Aquatics plants have Epic Root tabs in them to make sure they have the right nutrients in them when being delivered to you. Are root tabs safe for fish, shrimp, and snails? Yes, our brand of root tabs is safe for all animals. The reason is because we use actual soil in our root tabs that is nontoxic if the nutrients get released into the water column. Some people try to save money by making their own DIY root tabs or using fertilizers meant for houseplants and vegetables, but those terrestrial products can cause dangerous ammonia spikes in the water that may kill your fish and invertebrates. Because root tabs are water soluble, the key is to insert them into the substrate as quickly and deeply as possible. It’s okay if Easy Root Tabs accidentally pop out or get unearthed by your fish because they won’t harm the water quality, but ultimately, we want the root feeders to have access to more nutrients in the ground. Therefore, use planting tweezers or your fingers to push the whole root tab to the bottom of the substrate. (Do not remove the fertilizer from the capsule or else it will dissolve in the water column.)

  • Equilibrium

    Seachem Equilibrium

9 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

Equilibrium is specifically designed to establish the ideal mineral content for the planted aquarium. Equilibrium contains no sodium or chloride (which can be detrimental to a planted aquarium at elevated levels). Equilibrium is ideally suited for use with RO (reverse osmosis) or DI (deionized) water or any mineral deficient water. Equilibrium raises the essential mineral/electrolyte content (General Hardness) of the water to balance with and promote stability of the carbonate hardness. To maintain KH, we recommend Alkaline Buffer. Unlike competing products, Equilibrium contains NO SODIUM CHLORIDE. Both sodium and chloride are not rapidly depleted elements in a planted aquarium, and, in the case of chloride, can do more harm than good. Competitors products generally contain primarily sodium chloride (because it is inexpensive), which will raise the electrolyte levels for fish, but can be detrimental to plant growth. In addition, sodium is not a contributing cation to GH levels. Equilibrium contains only calcium, magnesium, and potassium salts, which aid in fish metabolism, but are also highly beneficial to plant growth. Equilibrium guaranteed analysis and symptoms of deficiency

5 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

The Feeding Station is a unique tool for making the feeding of flake foods and other floating foods more efficient. The Feeding Station floats on the surface of the aquarium water and adheres easily to glass or acrylic surfaces. It provides a stationary zone where fish can return repeatedly to feed while containing floating foods within a limited space. The food does not scatter across the aquarium water surface, which helps to reduce clogging of filters or skimmers. Ideal for aquariums equipped with over-flow type set up. Reduces waste and therefore has a positive impact on water quality. Allows one to target feed slower or weaker fish.
