  • Epic Aquatics Rotala colorata

    Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Rotala colorata

    18 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

    Rotala sp. ‘Colorata’ is very probably a variant of the variable species Rotala rotundifolia. Often it is also labeled with the erroneous name “Rotala indica”. In comparison with “standard” R. rotundifolia, this Rotala assumes an especially intensive light red to orange red colour, especially if it is under good light. The leaves are narrow lineal. The stems have an overhanging to horizontal growth habit and form dense bushes as they ramify readily, just like Rotala sp. “Green”, which is always light green. Rotala sp. ‘Colorata’ is a good combination partner for it. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

    Rotala sp. “H’Ra” or “Gia Lai” is a new plant from Vietnam. It is probably a local variant of the species Rotala rotundifolia. The plant has been named after its location H’Ra in the province of Gia Lai in central Vietnam. Rotala sp. “H’Ra” or “Gia Lai” has narrow leaves and develops a nice light orange to red colour under good lighting. It has the same elegant growth habit as the light green Rotala sp. “Green”: overhanging to horizontal ramified stems. When combined with Rotala sp. “Green”, Rotala sp. “H’Ra” will be especially effective. Rotala sp. “H’Ra” or “Gia Lai” differs from the similar Rotala sp. “Colorata” by lighter-coloured narrower leaves and more overhanging stems when cultivated under the same conditions. Notes: Rotala has fragile leaves! Be sure to handle with care. Final coloration is ultimately dependent upon the conditions this plant is kept in. This is a live plant meaning size, shape and color may vary. Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant. Please be sure to remove this plant from its wrap. Remove the foam surrounding the roots and plant into a quality substrate. CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth. Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives. Just like fish, live plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape

    Epic Aquatics Epic Aquatics Rotala rotundifolia

    19 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

    Rotala rotundifolia is a time-tested popular stem plant wonderfully suitable for aquascaping. Its emerged form has roundish leaves, in the aquarium they grow to a longer, narrow form. Compared with other Rotala species it is relatively undemanding. This highly variable species is widely distributed in the Asian subtropics and tropics; standard variants available in trade are light green to reddish under water, depending on the light intensity. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape.

  • Last stock! Micranthemum umbrosum 'Monte carlo' (labelled as Micranthemum .sp)

    Livestock Micranthemum umbrosum 'Monte carlo' (labelled as Micranthemum .sp)

    1 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

    Micranthemum sp ‘Monte Carlo’ – A highly interesting and recommendable ground-covering plant that’s still a rarity. It was collected on a riverbank in the province Misiones in North Argentine by some Japanese, and it was named after the place where it was found: Micranthemum sp. “Montecarlo-3”. Micranthemum sp ‘Monte Carlo’ is also known under the name “New Large Pearl Grass”, and in South America as “Bacopita”. It looks like a larger version of Hemianthus callitrichoides, but it is also somewhat similar to “standard” Micranthemum umbrosum. It grows flat on the ground, forming a compact mat. The roundish leaves are a bit smaller and of a darker green than those of M. umbrosum. When planted in an elevated place, loose shoots will bow to the ground. This Micranthemum is easier in cultivation than Hemianthus callitrichoides. Just like fish, living plants do best when they are kept in an aquarium that best suits their needs. Selecting live plants that share common water conditions will minimize problems and make it easier for you to maintain and keep your aquarium in tip top shape. We want your plant to thrive and become a favorite part of your tank. Do research before purchasing and be sure to choose plants that are suitable for your aquarium so you will get the most out of your new addition. Our plants are grown emersed and may not look great on arrival especially if they have travelled for a few days to reach you. Please give the plants some light and transplant into your tank as soon as possible for best results.

    Java Fern is the most popular type of fern with aquatics hobbyists, and is widespread in tropical Asia. This species varies widely and displays a number of different leaf shapes and sizes. A completely undemanding specimen and a perfect plant for beginners, it grows best when the rhizomes are anchored to rocks or driftwood. Low to moderate light is completely sufficient, although it also grows well under strong lighting. Older leaves can sometimes produce plantlets that can easily be cut away and reattached at another point using a piece of thin fishing line.

  • New Microsorum pteropus 'Trident'

    Dennerle Microsorum pteropus 'Trident'

    5 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

    Spiderwood, or red bog root, has now become a real classic in aquatics. The many-branched and filigree root pieces originate from rhododendron plants from Asia. In contrast to mangrove wood, they do not stain the water - but are originally very light. However, our roots are pre-watered and usually sink quickly. The filigree leaf structure of the variety 'Trident' looks very harmonious in combination with the finely branched Spiderwood roots. Microsorum pteropus 'Trident' grows rather slowly and, like the main form, is very easy to care for and undemanding.

  • New Nymphaea Lotus Red { Bulbs only } Nymphaea Lotus Red { Bulbs only }

    Dennerle Nymphaea Lotus Red { Bulbs only }

    5 in stock Delivery in 2-5 Days  Excluding Weekends and Public Holidays

    Red Tiger Lotus is broadly distributed across tropical Africa, where it inhabits various bodies of water, including temporary pools and lakes, and flowing water. It has a bulb for storing nutrients and robust floating leaves. Its most attractive feature is the submersed juvenile leaves that do not reach the surface. Of the two colorways, this red variant is the more popular among aquarists; the green version is hard to find commercially. Tiger Lotus is generally undemanding. Older, larger leaves should always be removed at the base of the bulb.
