The use of a Carbon source in a marine aquarium is the result of an old technique to lower strongly and quickly the levels of nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate present in the water.This is like the technique of vodka/vinegar/sugar dosing, but without the risk of introducing unwanted elements (coloring, flavoring, etc.) and with multiple carbon sources in right proportions.The added organic carbon strongly stimulates bacteria and quickly lowers the levels of NO2, NO3 and PO4. This bacterial surplus will be consumed by the animals in the tank or eliminated via efficient skimming.
[N,P]EX is a combination in the right proportions of several different carbon sources which guarantee its effectiveness. It should only be used by aquarists who are experienced and knowledgeable in monitoring the values of their aquarium.It's recommendend to use when all other NO3 and PO4 limitation measures are no longer effective. Gradually increase the amounts according to the expected parameters levels. Once they are stable, maintain the dosage while regularly monitoring these levels.

A new Alternanthera variant, also labeled as Alternanthera reineckii Rosanervig. This colourful, well-growing plant is characterised by its vivid pink leaves with lighter-coloured leaf veins. Under water, it has a relatively compact growth habit, comparable with Alternanthera reineckii ‘Mini’, and it is great as colourful accent in the middle ground or in the foreground, given that it is trimmed regularly. Like most Alternanthera variants, Alternanthera reineckii Rosanervig prefers good light and an abundant nutrient supply as well as additional CO2 injection for good growth and intensive colours.

The size and texture of the leaves can vary greatly. This plant was originally native to Sri Lanka. It is commonly found in streams and rivers throughout Sri Lanka, and it tends to grow in shaded areas.

Micranthemum sp ‘Monte Carlo’ – A highly interesting and recommendable ground-covering plant that’s still a rarity. It was collected on a riverbank in the province Misiones in North Argentine by some Japanese, and it was named after the place where it was found: Micranthemum sp. “Montecarlo-3”. Micranthemum sp ‘Monte Carlo’ is also known under the name “New Large Pearl Grass”, and in South America as “Bacopita”. It looks like a larger version of Hemianthus callitrichoides, but it is also somewhat similar to “standard” Micranthemum umbrosum. It grows flat on the ground, forming a compact mat. The roundish leaves are a bit smaller and of a darker green than those of M. umbrosum. When planted in an elevated place, loose shoots will bow to the ground. This Micranthemum is easier in cultivation than Hemianthus callitrichoides.

DOOA Suikei Liquid is composed with nitrogen, potassium, and minerals which are indispensable for healthy growth of aquatic plants. Its daily dosage and appropriate lighting equipment, and CO2 supply will keep aquatic plants nice and healthy. DOOA WABI-KUSA Mist contains important nutrients, has a repellent effect on pests and enhances the colour of the leaves of the Wabi-Kusa plants. For a Wabi-Kusa area of 10 x 10 cm apply 5 pumps evenly over the leaves. Do not use the spray for submerged plants.
What is Wabi-Kusa?
A wabi kusa is basically a small portion of plant substrate (usually soil), often formed into balls, with different aquatic plants growing on and from it. The plants are in their emersed form. This has been made popular by Takashi Amano and his company ADA, Aqua Design Amano.

DOOA Aqua Pincette S are of great use when including new aquatic plants into an aquarium. Also they can be used for terrariums and Wabi-Kusa for maintenance activities. Especially when establishing a new aquascape and other planted aquariums, these tweezers can help planting without pressing out neighboring plants. Even between stones or driftwood, plants can be safely placed. The DOOA Aqua Pincette S are available in three sizes and suitable for aquarium plants as well as terrariums.
The tweezers are pretty flexible and have a riffled tip. This makes them especially gentle to aquarium plants but also secures a safe hold.
